Teraport: New DMU-Toolkit release 3.3 and acquisition of software from Bytes + Lights

In the new DMU-Toolkit release 3.3, Teraport GmbH has further developed a number of the modules. Teraport’s clients stand to benefit directly from this development.
The geometry testing process, and in particular the neighbor search feature, has been completely revised. Thanks to so-called “local space maps”, the identification of proximity relationships in a digital product comprising many thousands of components can be carried out in a time span of seconds or minutes. The precision of neighbor search has also been optimized. This facilitates the achievement of results which have been improved by up to a factor of 3. This also has a direct influence on geometry testing and considerably reduces the calculation times of DMU.Check.
The further development of this tool is rounded off with a new system of rules (arbitrarily complex calculation rules which can be applied to any metadata), and the new Java API (application programming interface) which, for example, facilitates direct and easy integration into PDM systems. This allows us to respond to our clients’ requirements in an even more flexible manner.

DMU.Hardcopy provides more images in a shorter time span and of higher quality
In DMU.Hardcopy, the image generator module in the Teraport DMU Toolkit, the amount of data which can be processed has been further increased. Furthermore, by selecting more than one viewpoint, it is now also possible to generate several images simultaneously. A further increase in image quality has been achieved by implementing the rendering of the images with anti-aliasing.

Teraport acquires Bytes + Lights GmbH’s software rights
With the acquisition of all rights for the use and exploitation of the Bytes + Lights 3D visualization software, Teraport has purposefully expanded and supplemented its portfolio of solutions. This software processes the CAD data for marketing and after-sales requirements, as well as for technical documentation. By employing Frank Firsching, the Chief Developer of this software we, on the one hand, have exclusively secured for a leading automobile manufacturer the lasting further and continued development of the software to suit the client’s individual demands and application requirements. And on the other hand, we have accomplished the efficient integration into the Teraport DMU Toolkit. The DMU Toolkit is hence now complemented with a technologically superior tool for the visualization of 3D data for technical documentation.
